So imagine my surprise when I woke up at 2 a.m. totally wide eyed and ready to take on the day. If the day had started yet. And if there wasn't a nagging pain in my stomach. Ugh. More planning anxiety? I'd been experiencing a sharp surge in anxiety symptoms this week--coming under the 30 day mark creates a lot of pressure--but I'd been sleeping just fine. And I'd secured a ton of plans just that day.
I tried everything: I checked my email and my Facebook, trying to remind myself that there was nothing going on and no reason to be up; I drank some water; turned on Friends reruns hoping to drift off to sleep. I even cranked up the air conditioning and repositioned myself to sleep with my head at the foot of my bed (for some strange reason that always worked in high school and college.) I think I finally fell asleep at about 6:30 a.m. That's 30 minutes before my alarm went off.
Needless to say I am a mess today; but I'm curious: is this normal!?
Any other brides-to-be with weddings coming up this month feeling this way? I'd love to hear how you're handleing it!
