A Second Blushing Bride at What's Up? Weddings

Hi, everyone! My name is Stefanie and I am the production assistant here at What's Up? I am the second bride to be here at the magazine. My fiancé, Travis is a support engineer at a software company called Tricerat in Columbia. Over the past four years, we have grown together facing many obstacles that have been thrown our way. But our love is stronger than ever. In June 2012, we started a new chapter in our lives moving in together. I look forward to all the new chapters we will get to start in our lives starting with our journey to the altar. But before I get ahead of myself, let me tell you how we started...

In 2007, I started teaching dance at a local dance studio in Cape St. Claire. Little did I know how much of an impact taking that job would have on my life. While getting to know my students during the first class, one student informed me that she had a brother my age. Not thinking anything of it, I brushed the thought aside. The following week as I go to press play to start the music, she informs me that she told her brother about me. I was absolutely horrified. Why would she go and do a silly thing like that?

A few days later as I log on to facebook, I receive a message from a Travis Jenkins starting off with "Hey, I'm Chelsea's brother, Travis. Maybe we could get together for a drink sometime." I was in awe that he had messaged me. Before sending anything back I of course looked at his picture. "WOW! He's gorgeous" was my first thought. So of course I responded saying that I was interested. For a few days we chatted on Facebook, exchanging numbers and texting.

On September 21,2007, we met for our first date at a small sandwich shop in Severna Park called Gourmet Connection. Over the next few months we spent time getting to know each other, hanging with each other's friends and family and having a great time. However, the timing was not right in our lives. Over the next few months, I still continued to teach his sister dance, so Travis was still in my life.

Months pass by.....

Two days prior to what would've been the one year anniversary of our first date I attend Chelsea's sweet 16 party. Instead of hanging out with a crowd of 16 year olds, I decided to hang outside with Travis. We talk, laugh, share some drinks and have a good time. By the end of the evening, Travis asked me a very important question: "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Well everyone, that's how our story started. Next time I will tell you all about how I became the future Mrs. Jenkins!
