A Match Made in Lacrosse
Kristen and Jake’s families have known each other for years, but it wasn’t until college that the pair really met. Kristen played lacrosse at the University of Maryland with Jake’s brother, Quinn, who formally introduced them one weekend when Jake was visiting from Georgetown. “Shortly after, Jake invited me to his team’s formal; I invited him to mine, and the rest is history!” Kristen says.

The Irish Proposal
Jake popped the question in a small town on the west coast of Ireland—“the most beautiful place on earth,” Kristen says. “His cousin dropped us off for a harmless little beach stroll—or so I thought—and halfway down the beach, Jake dropped to one knee.” They had been in Waterville for less than an hour, but Jake said he could not hold the ring in his pocket a second longer. “I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect scene,” Kristen shares.

That Bohemian Dress
Kristen’s brothers, visiting from California, helped her pick out her Temperley gown from Lovely Bride in Georgetown. “It had a very simple, classy, and bohemian feel and made me feel so comfortable,” she says. Her favorite detail? The gorgeous back, embellished with buttons and lotus flowers.

The Clever Party Favor
At the reception, the Haleys set up a table with mason jar lidded crush cups for their guests. “It was so fun to look back at the pictures and see our logo on everyone’s cups,” Kristen says. “Everyone could have a blast and throw their hands up in the air on the dance floor with no drink spillage!”

Planner to the Rescue
Kristen was so busy celebrating, she didn’t have much time to eat. “But since Jake and I both love cheese boards, our planner got us a personal cheese board for our table, so we could easily snack and get a little food in our bellies,” she says.

Her Favorite Moments
Listening to Jake say his vows was Kristen’s absolute favorite moment of the day, but her father-daughter first look was a close second.
“We are super close, so when I came down the steps after getting ready, we both lost it,” Kristen recalls.

The Perfect Hashtag
In the lead up to the wedding, Kristen and her dad spent days building a shelved wall to serve donuts. “Since our hashtag was #dontworrybehaley, of course it had to say ‘Donut Worry Be Haley,’” Kristen explains. “We wanted everyone to not have a worry in the world and have a blast the entire night, and I think we accomplished that.”
