How to Stay Healthy in Winter Wednesday January 31st, 6:30PM-8:30PM Guest Speaker: Deanna Slate Stennett, L.Ac., MA, Diplomat NCCAOM Deanna Slate Stennett is a Maryland Licensed Acupuncturist and is Nationally Certified (Dip. Of Ac. NCCAOM.) Deanna believes that we are part of the earth, and therefore affected by seasonal changes. When we understand the energy of the season and redirect our lifestyle to be in harmony with that season, we can eliminate many of the causes of illness. In this class, she will talk about lifestyle changes to support you in the season of winter. She will also talk about foods that support the winter energy and practices that you can incorporate into your daily life that will also support how winter shows up in you. She will also talk about how Acupuncture can also support you in each of the seasons. Deanna has also completed a Master’s Degree in Transformative Leadership and Social Change, where she is learning about coaching groups of people in various settings. Deanna’s thesis project is a book on the healing stories of the Acupuncture Points written for lay people, not just practitioners, to have a greater understanding of the poetry of their own bodies.
