Guest Speaker: Ruthie O'Hehir, Certified Integrative Health Coach, Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Yoga Instructor Ruthie is a Nutrition Coach, Strength & Conditioning Coach, and Yoga Instructor at PEAK Custom Fitness Solutions in Annapolis. Ruthie offers an integrated approach to improved health, well-being, and performance. She is experienced working with clients of all ages and abilities from the general health population to athletes looking to enhance their performance. Her Nutrition Coaching practice is founded on the concept of bio-individuality meaning that the "right" nutrition is specific to the individual: their health history, disease risk factors, age, dietary restrictions, goals, training regimen, and lifestyle. You'll recognize Ruthie's zest for teaching and commitment to helping her clients find sustainable nutrition solutions that also help them reach their goals. Ruthie is a self-proclaimed "foodie" and believes that healthy food can/should taste good, too! Join Ruthie to learn about the science of nutrition and to explore the pros and cons of nine common dietary strategies: Atkins, The Zone, Paleo, Ketogenic, Vegan, Vegetarian, South Beach, Raw Food, and the Mediterranean Diet. Use this information to make empowered food choices that will help you reach your goals. Ruthie will also share some of her favorite recipes that demonstrate how making healthier choices doesn't need to compromise flavor.
